WELLINGTON, Tlns JJay. Tlie Wellington, streets were lined by thousands this morning to view the marcli-past of one thousand men from the combined Australian and New Zealand squadrons, this from the public point of view, being the highlight of the visit of the warshipte.
There were four divisions Kin each eolumn, each headed by a band, and they made a memorable spectacle in the bright sunshine as they swung past the saluting ,base on the green at the eorner of Molesworth street and Lambton Quay. The salute was taken by the Governor-General on a speciallyerected dias, and he was attended by Bear-Admiral E. H. O. Lane-Poole, commodore of the Australian Squadron, and Bear-Admiral the Hon. E. R. Drummond, Commodore of the New Zealand squadron. Those in the official enclosure were: The Acting Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop; Captain Oliver, second member of the New .Zealand Naval Board; Lieut.Colonel Duigan, G.O.C. New Zealand Military Forces; Wing-Commander Cochrane; Chief of the Air Staff; Wing-Commander Wilkefc; SquadronLeader Isitt; Major Edney, B.E., of the British Army; Major Purvis and Sir Standish O'Grady Boche, A.D.C'b
to Viscount Galway; Captain. Glenme, of the Achilles and Lieut.-Colonel Standish, Hon, A.D.C's. The men from the Achilles marched past in the lead and were followed by men from the Canberra, Australia and Sydney. A division from the Eoyal Volunteer Naval Eeserve broughfe . up the rear.
