The opening day of the Aorangi Golf Club was held during the week-end. The opening match was a Canadian foursomo, the .winners being H. J Smith and E. C. CJarkson. Following are the results: — H. J. Smith and O. Clarkson, 2 down. Mrs.. N. Bell and G. Sanderson, 3 down. Miss Dalgleish and G. Kelly, 3 down. Mrs. H. Beamish and N. Bell, 5 down. Mrs. Wellwood and E. C. Smith, 5 down. Mrs. Redwood and G. P. Dasent, 5 down. Miss O. Smith and R. P. Kay, 5 down. A. P. Dasent and L. Simmons, 6 down, Mrs. Kay and A. G. Balfour, 6 down. E. J. Phillips and A. J. Graham, 6 down. W. A. Whyte and.J. Dasent, 6 down. Miss B. Simmons and W. H. Howe, 6 down. Mrs. Gascoyne and H. Beamish, 8 down. Mrs. Mason and A. Bell, 9 down. G. Muriitt and W. Johnston, 10 down. Next weekjend a handieap medal match will be played, players to choose their own partners.
