RIFLE SHOOTING
Napier Club Championship Series F. H. JAMES SCORES 97 The Napier Defence Bifle Club fired the third series for the club championship on Saturday. Conditions were not of the best, misty rain falling during the 'afternoon. Banges were 500 and 600 yarde, 10 shots at each; standards, 49 and 47. F. H. James, with 97 off the rifle, put up a good shoot to get (lrst place, while L. Proffitt, with 96, also did well. The oldest member of the club, J. Hawkins, showed greatly
Improved form in registering 48 at 600 yards. This shoot also concluded the pompetition for the cup presented by Mr. T. Parker for the marksman to score moat points over ranges of 500 and 600 yards in the championship fteries. This was won by F. H. James with a total of 822 points. J. T.
