Splendid Groyne Work COMPLETING SOUTH DAM What has been done is something new^ in river mouths here,'? said Mr L. E./Harris at to-day 's meeting of the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board when coinmeutiug upon the work on tho .new niouth for the Tutaekuri river. "A •piendid job-is beiug done, and* when iiiished it should be a splendid work;" The engineer, Mr G. Rochfort, 0rs.jorted that the concrete work on the jialn part of the groyne nad now been •-•ompleted and that a start had been iiade to complete the connecting levee. The tidal channel between the finished part of the south dam. and the beach had been filled to a level of one foot below low water. Everything was in readincss to complete this dam. The southern levee from the end of the new traffic brldge had been faced with concrete slabn. The chairman, Mr C. Lassen, stated that oome massive concreto work had been carried out, and when it was finished heavy conerete work would exlend from the bridge to the mouth. Work carried out during the past month makes a total of £93,132 exXtended on the Tutaekuri river scheme to date.
