LUSCIOUS STRAWBERRIES

Out-of-Season Fruit Strawberries at this time of the year are a rarity, yet excellent samples of this delicious small fruit are at present being gathered in Hastings. . Today a Herald-Tribune reporter was shown a crate of punnets of luscious fruit grown by Mr. W. Priest, Wall road. The fruit was of good size aud beautifully coloured. Although out of season, Mr. Priest states that his plants are still cropping, despite the fact that he was about the earliest in t)ie district to start picking. Strawberries of tliis quality reflect tlie careful attention and cultivation that the fruit had received, and shows what the soil around Hastings is , cagable of jiroducing.
