(By Telegraph-

INVERCARGILL, Last Night. That the Wallace and Eiord hospital district should be amalgamated with the Southland hospital district is the recommendation of Mr^W. H. Freeman, S.M., who was appointed by the Hon. P. Eraser, Minister of Health, to hold an inquiiy into the matter. The Commissioner also considers that in no circumstances should the Riverton hospital be closed or in any way reduced, as it gave a good and convenient service to a great number of persons in and about Riverton.
