CREAM COIN-SPOTTED NET FOR BRIDAL GOWN
Irving — Robson A quxefc wedding was solenmised at St. Matthew 's Church, Hastings, on Easter Monday, when Mabel Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Robson, Riverslea road, Hastings, was married to Walter Henry, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Irving, of Stratford. The Rev. K. Liggett officiated at the ceremony during which Mr. C. B. Spinney presided' at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of cream eoinspotted silk net mounted on taffeta. The corsage was softly gathered in front to form a rounded neckline and a pearl clasp fiilished the deep/V at the back. The short puffed sleeves were mounted on stiftened net and the very full skijt had ruched taffeta edging the hem. A wide Swiss taffeta sasb was worn at the waist and was finished at the back with a soft bow with long hanging ends. Instead of the custooiary veil the bride wore a garland of cornflowers, carnations and gypsophila and carried a sheaf of the same flowers intermingled with blue delphiniums and ferns. The pnly bridesmaid was Miss Jean Robson, the bride *s sister, whose gown of cream ninon was patterned with bunche§[ of flame, lemon and green flowers. The bodice was slightly ruched in front to form a high neckline the back being cut low with a crossover effect. A sash of flame and lemon velvet ribbon was worn at the waist and a spray of autumn tinted flowers was worn across her hair at the back. She carried a sheaf of gladioli, gerberas, miniature zinnias in the shades of her gown. Mr. L. Preston carried out the dutiea of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride 's parents where intimate friends and relative» were entertained. A oaarquoe was erected on the lawn and here the wedding breakfast was arranged. Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Robson received their guests, the latter wearing a frock of saxe blue silk patterned in white and eherry with a coatee of plain blue. Sho wore a ballibuntal straw hat and a shouldeif spray of shaded pink carnations. Mrs. J. Irving, mother of the bridogroom, wore a smart navy blue costume and navy velour hat finished with a bright quill. Her shoulder spray was of autumn tinted flowers, When the bride and bridegroom leit for their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a smartly tailored costume of navy pin-striped material with a cream georgette blouse smocked in navy. Her navy velour hat had a scarlet quill and she carried a scarlet purse and a musquash fur coat. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Irving will reside in Auckland.
