NEW RUGBY OFFICIALS
Mr. R. A. Fraser, Takapau, President MR. NORRIE AGAIN CHAIRMAN Mr R. A. Fraser, of Takapau, was elected president of the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union at the annual general meetjng in Napier last evening. He is a keen supporter of Rugby football, being president of the Central Hawke's Baq Rugby Union and of the Takapau Rugby Football Club. He succeeds Mr T. W, Hercock on the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union.
Mr J. w. JNorne was unanimousxy reelected chairman of the union's committee. Tributes to his keen interest in the game were paid by Messrs T. W. Hercock, B. Tweedie and W. O 'Neill. He has held this position now for 15 years, during which timo he has taken a leading part in the promotion of country football. Other offlcers elected last night were as follow: — Patron, • Mr W. Corbett; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Bowman, T. W. Hercock, J. V. BroWn, W. T. Foster, R. M. Hewitt, G. A. Maddison, A. E. Eenouf, and presidentg of sub-unions; hon. selector, Mr N. A. McKenzie; hon. treasurer, Mr J. W. Callaghan; management committee,, Messrs J. W. • Norrie (chairman), W. L. Dunn (representing Wairoa), W. Lockhead (Hastings), L. Harris (Dannevirke), B. A. Grenside (East Coast), A. Kirkpatrick (Central Hawke's Bay), G. McLean (Taupo), and the following club representatives : Messrs B. Tweedie, 'A. E. Young, A. D. Lynch, H. V. Phillips and W. D. Corbett; delegates to New Zealand Council, Messrs J. W. Norrie, N. A. McKenzie, G. A. Maddison and a resident delegate to be appointed by the committee; hon. auditors, Messrs McCulloch, Butler and Spettce.
