Several million German mouth organs are to be exclianged for American petroleum, nnder a barter agreement just concluded. The signatories are tho Standard Oil Company of New Jersey and Blaclc Forest lirms. The arrangement is without parallel in the history of Germany's barter policy. Two thousand men at the Gorton (Manchester) works of Crossley Motors Ltd. went on strike for less than an hour recently. Coach builders complained of the eold; other dopartments walked out with them in sympathy, but they all returned after a meeting with the eniployers. A representativo of the firm said temporary failure of heating apparatus was eaused by non-delivery of a consignment of coal.
