LONDON, March 9. The Duke oi Windsor, after his marriage to Mrs Wallis Simpson, plans to liye near Baltimore, says the ' ' Philadelphia Becord " in a copyright dispatch yesterday. The newspaper declares (cables the News Chronicle New York correspondent) that the Duke has taken an option on three residences. • He "favours particularly" The Cloisters, a 20-roomed Tudor-style mansion at Greenspring Valley, with grounds of . 107 acres. A swimming bath is being built, and ihe stables are being enlarged. The owner of the majision is Mr Summer Parker, a manufaeturer, who aailed for Europe on Saturday last. It is stated that the Duke 's option is on a 12-months' lease. Mrs Simpson, who yesterday made n surprise dash by car from Cannes, where she had been staying since December 5, broke her journey in the Loire Department last night, says Reuter. She is accompanied by her hosts, Mr and Mrs Herman Rogers. She arrives to-day at the house near Tours of Mr. Charles E. Bedaus, an American industrial engineer, who is- a friend of Mr and Mrs Herman Rogers. The guests will stay there for several weeks. Mr Bedaux states that the reason for the visit was that alterations were planned at the Rogers' villa at Cannes. The News" Chronicle Cannes correspondent says: Mrs Simpson 's plans are a close secret, but I am able-to state that she will not leave France until after May.
