Nothing Wrong With Labour Legislation NO INFLATION DANGER

DUNEDIN, This Day. Interviewed on the way south, the Hon. E. J. Maokrell, Minister of Labour in Victoria's Country Party Government, expressed substantiaJ agreement with many of the measures passed by the New Zealand Labour Government last year. ••Although I am not a Labour man, 1 am largely In agreement with some oi the cnanges effeeted by your Government," said Mr. Mackrell. "There has been much experiment with the guaranteed price, but there is nothing new about it. We have been doing that with"5 "various agriculture! products as an export bounty for 20 years. Queonsland has the Compulsory Acquisitiou Act, which it could enforce at any time to cqptrol the sugar industry. "There is snothing wrong with what NeW Zealand is doing. Some people talk about inflation. as far tos I can see there is not. the slightest danger." The main purpose of Mr. Mackrell 's visit is to investigate the ramifications of the unemployment system. He expressed a high opinion of New Zealand 's placement scheme, intimating that he would introduce it into the Victorian system. This is Mr. Mackrell 's first visit m 12 years. He stated that he was greatly enamoured of the whole country and delighted with the people's outlook. He has come south to see his brother, Mr. A. H. Mackrell, of Invercargill.
