Inteirnational Conference To Seek Way s and Means

! RUGBY, March 31. Mr. Norman Davis, United States Ambassador at large, has arrived ]bo attend the International Sugar Convention. Mr. Davis said the aim of the convention would be to find means whereby planters, who at present were working at a loss might be able to produce sugar profitably but without unduly hurting the eonsumer. Roferring to world economic problems generally, he said America was prepared to join any schemo for lowering tariffs and, althsugh at the moment Europe showed no disposition to - disarm, America was ready, when the prospects wero more favourable, to co-operate in efforts for reducing armaments and .the maintenance of peace.
