RUGBY AT TAUPO
Footbail ia now ofl a better footing than for some time past in the Taupo district, according to the annual report of the Hawke 's Bay Eugby Union. Last year the union took over the control of footbail in the Taupo area. and sufficient teams were seeured to make keeu competition. "The Taupo sub-union gave auite a lot of time to the game, and, with the encouragement received from the union, became a' very erithnsiaHtic body in the furtherance of the code. At various times they have expressed to t)ie members of the committee their appreciation of the interest that lias been shown from tliis end. The assistanc.e Ihe union can give them is somewhat iimited. due to the fact that they are so f ar away from. our centre,v' notes the report.
