Smart Sprints Recorded at Ellerslie training gallops

. AUCKLAND, This Day. The No.' 1 grass track, on which the poles were out five feet, was- available for fast work at Ellerslie this morning, and the going was good. Some smart sprints were recorded. : Start Artist and Rollieker finished together at the end of half a mile in 49 2-5. This was a good efforfc. Mazir and Royal Appellant beat Sinking Fund over a round in 1.54 2-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.19 2-5. Impasto pleased while covering six furlongs in 1.17. Surella beat Glen Abb over five furlongs in 1.3- 3-5, while Waitaka was too good for Haputable at the end of a similar distanee, the last four furlongs taking 50 2-5. . After covering their first two furlongs in 25secs., M'aTjory Daw and Droll completed five furlongs in 1.4. Prince Rangi galloped seven furlongs in 1.32 3-5, the last half -mile taking 52 4-5. Bass was slightly in front of School Song -at- the finish of six furlongs in 1.19 3-5, the . last "four oecupying 52 4-5. Crooning got to the end of seven furlongs xn -1.17. ' Lady Kyra ran right away irom Bonny Glow over the concluding stages of 'five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. Shy covered a round in 1.53 2-5, the last six furlongs in 1.19 3-5. Land Girl joined him at the half-mile ' and finished severn! lengths 'in front in 50 2-5 At Avondala At Avondale this morning fasl work was carried out on the course proper, the, poles being 40 feet out from the rails.. The going was good. Strathire and King Theo were sent six. furlongs. They ran the first thvee in 38 3-5 and covered the full journey in 1.17 i 1-5. It was a good effort, as they went practically from a standing start. Golden Shexla and Lornacre were on tefms after reeling off five furlongs in 1.4.
