Mr. F. A. Foote, of Napier, a meruber of the Napier Courthouse stafi:, has been appointed deputy-registrar at Napier of births, deaths and marriages. Mr J. A. Maekay retired yesterday from the nianaging-editorship of the Gisborne Times after twenty-five years itt that position. He is sueeeeded in the position of editor by Mr B. J, Eastwood, who has b-een snb-editor fot 15 years. The commercial aetivities of the Times will in futUre be controlled j by Mr E. .T. Iverridge, who has purchased ihe building, plant and goodwill j of the Journal,
