Mr and Mrs L. F. Cresswell have returned to Dannevirke from a visit to Wellington. Mr and Mrs H. Geard, Wellington, are spending a holiday with relatives in. Dannevirke. Miss Marton Shaw, Auckland, is spending a holiday with' Mr and Mrs H. J. Meakin, Dannevirke Mr C. Scott, borough health officer for Dannevirke, is on annual leave. He attended the Fire Brigades' Conierence at Lower Hutt and later wjJl visit relatives jn the South Island. Mr Norman Gallichan. who is with the New Zealand cricket team, is a nephew of Mrs T. Collier, Manilla' street, Dannevirke. Mr and Mrs Harry Hand, who have been residents of Dannevirke for over 20 years, have left with their family to reside at Wanganui. The Methodist Ladies' Guild held an. afternoon to farewell them. Mr Hand, who has given generous service as temporary clioirmaster and singing instructor, was presented with a hymn-book by the choir, and the guild gave Mrs Hand a beautiful jardiniere.
