I Two Matches Played in Napier Two cricket matohes wero played in Napier over th© Easter hoiidi/s, one between a Napier junior team and the Y.M.C.A. team from Palmerston North and the other between the Napier Gas Company and Maraekakaho. In the former match the Jfapier juniors were decisively beaten by an innings and 14 runs, while the latter ended in a draw. Y.M.C.A. batted first in the x atch which commenced on Easter Sa.t irday, and were all out for the good total g£ 289 runs. Of this score Edward s made 73, Denby 55, Wheatley 51, and Coiiis 46 For Napier, Kronk took four wiokets for 30 runs, Hunter four for 60, and Hardaker two for 69. Napier replied with 80, Hardaker makiiig top score with 18, Kronk 14, Cummins 12, and Robinson 11. For Palmerston McNimmon took four for 12, Rabone three for 21, Collis two for five, and Oman one for seven. Napier fpllowed on and at the close of play yesterday were all out for 195. Kronk made 45, Cummins 38, Hunter 29, Hardaker 25, and Robinson 12 not out. Rees took two for 22, Wheatley four for 47, Edwards two for 22, Rabone one for nine, and Griggs one for 12. Y.M.C.A. won by an innings and 14 runs. In a match at Nelson Park yesterday the Napier Gas Company and Maraekakaho drew. The Gas Company batted first and made 100, of which Mangelson contributed 36, CoUinge 18, and Wiig 10. Maraekakaho in reply made 119 (R. Keong 29, Davis 25, McPhee 10 and D, Davis 13).
