MESSAGE FROM THE KING
Hastings Centenarian Celebrates Birthday FAMILY GATHERING Congratulatory messages from Their Majesties, the King and Queeti, and from the Governor-Gexieral, Lord Galway, wex'e arnong the many expressions of goodwill received by Mr George Lines, of j3t. George's road, Hastings, , when he celebrated hds hundredth birthday yesterday. A family gatlxering, at which a few old t'riends were also present, was held at Mr Lines' s residence yesterday, when birthday greetings were extended to the centenarxan. Mr Lines and his family of six were photographed on the lawn, and at a later stage a photograph of the whole party was taken. A cake carrying lOO candles was ihe most proxninent feature of the teatablo, and the lighting and blowing-out of this large ttitmber of candles caused much amusenient, into which Mr Lines entered keartily. The party dispersed at an early hoUr, all wiehing Mr Lines one© again the best df health, and eSpressing the hope that they Would all be present to Cfilebrate his next birthday attniversary.
