CENTRE TOURNEY Lockwood's Team The Winners ANDERSON RUNNER-UP •The final of the H.B. Bowling Csntre's Easter tournament was played on the Hastings Club's green yesterday afternoon in beautiful weather. The green was in splendid order and very true. There was a "bank" of over 300,, who watched the play throughout with the greatest interest. The finalists wero:— Port Ahuriii: Sinclair, J. Johnson, Poppelwell, Lockwood- Havelock Nortlx: Hall, Heenan, Crombie, Anderson. Play started off very evenly, but Port soon obtained a lead. Havelock North got on to six and stopped there for eight heads, Port meanwhile going up to 16. " Port. maintained their lead to the end and won 24 — 16. At the conclusion of the match, the president of the centre, Mr P. D. Logan, presented the trophies to the winners and runners-up. He congratulated both teams on their excellent exhibition, and then called for three cheers for both teams, which were heartily given. Both skips suitably replied. Mr Logan, in presenting the pmes to the winners of the consolation handicap, mertioned that the new scheme had been given a trial, and it "emaxned with the clubs, themselves if it was to be continued in the future.
