Party Decides Cost Not Justified
(By Telegraph-
WELLINGTON, Last Night. An adverse report on the proposals to ,'stablish one or more metropolitan Lab>ur daily newspapers in the Dominion iyas preseuted to the annual conference >f the New Zealad Labour Party to-day *' sy the National Executive Committee. I Careful consideration had been. given :o the desirabilities of establishing one or more Labour daily papers, the executive reported. The establishment of jne daily newspaper would invoive 1 6100,000 and four papers, one in each of the main centres, would require 6500,000. It was felt that the cost was aot justified and adequate publicity could be secured in other ways. The executive therefore recommended for the present time that an endeavour be made to raise £25,000 with the object of raaking the party 's official organ a more eifective means of publicity on the existing weekly basis. The conference adopted the recommendation.
