Rain Delays Play In Tournament

HAMILTON, This Day. The North Island tennis tournament, to have opeiied at Hamilton yesterday morning, was delayed until the afternoon owing to rain. Two doubles matches only were decided, Eesults: LADIES' DOUBLES. M. Glenny and M. Budd (Hastings) beat J. Grenier and N. Whetelan (Auckland), 6 — 4, 6—5. MEN'S DOUBLES. Gooch and Lewis (Auckland) beat Thompson and Bichardson (Tehoe), 6—2, 6—0. There was no play this morning.
