Quality Offering At Stortford A FIRM MARKET Good quality fat sheep were offering at Stortford Lodge yOSterday, when a firm market prevailed for the short yarding, With most. of the offering being up to their quality butchers wero provided with a good selection. Extra prime heavy wethers early shorn made to 30/-, the highest figure reached for some time. Bxtra prime maiden ewea realised 25/6, while aged sorts sold above the freezing schedule, Some of the best lambs yards this season were offered when extra prime heavy shorn Southdowns topped the market at 34/3. Other prime lambs, medium grown, sold at 27/Values were offered as under for seleeted entries : — An entry of 24 heavy prime wethers early shorn and should kill out at 681bs, brought 30/-. A small entry of Southdown twotooths, prime finished, made 23/11. Eighteen early shorn medium wethers of 561bs average made 26/6. A small entry from Twyford of heavy extra prime blackfaced lambs brought 33/6. A small pen of light wethers made 24/7. On account of Mr. C. Rosser, an entry of extra prime heavy Southdown lambs, in exceptional order, sold at 32/3. On account of the saine vendor, a further pen of srmilar bred lambs, even heavier, made in two lots 33/3 and 34/3. On account of Mr A. Struthers, 24 early-shorn heavy prime quality maiden 4-th ewes, met the market at 25/6. Niu© medium grown, very prime blackfac© lambs, off a dairy farm, sold at 27/-
