PARIS, March 21' Commander Thoreux, Captain of the Normandie, finiflhing her flrst voyage from New York after two months ' overhaul and the fitting of foUr-bladed propell(«rs, wirelessed that she had completed the passage from Ambrose ligbt to Bishop Rock, Scilly Isles, the officiai course for the Atlantic blue riband of 2978 miles, in four days 383 seconds, averaging 30.99 knots, which is clalmed as a reeord, beating the Queen Mary 's last year when she covered the shorter course of 2708 miles in three days twenty-three hours fifty-seven minutes, averaging 30.63 knots. » An officiai of the French line emphasises that the xecord was made in midwinter, the Normandie in the last two days driving against strong head winds. The new propellors are made of very light aUoy, each weighing three tons less than the old.
