Gas for School Allegedly Stolen (Eeceived 23, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YOEK, March 22. A message from New London Says a company offieial testified at the military inquiry that the gas line serving the wrecked school was connected with the company *s pipe without the company 's knowledge or permission. He said he first leai'ned of the connection when asked to shut off the gas after. the explosion. He examined the pipe and found the connection in a shallow ditoh which appeared to have been dug less than Uinety days previously. Mr Reagan, president of the School Board, stated: "We were not stealiug gas. It is absurd to say we conneeetd with the company *s pipe without permission. We dealt with the proper authorities whieh we will bring out in a later testimony."
