Eollowing is a further series of lessons for primary school pupils attending schools in Hastings and district: — KJBADING AND SPELLING, FOBM 2. Eeading: Journal, pages 23-26, "Trapped." Eead it out aloud even if by yourself. Spelling (meanings from dictionary): Eesponsible, terrified, draggled, wrench, pillar, circulation, careering, poised, cormorattts, preposterous. Dictation exercise: Last paragraph page 26. FOEM 1. Eeading; Pages 30 and 31, "Louis Pasteur." With the aid of your dictionary find the meanings of the following words: — Microscope, germ, industry, anthrax, antiseptics, disease, plague, vaccination, hydrophobia, resist. Write words and meanings in your exercwe book, Spelling: Learn the above words. Dictation: Page 31: "There is a large . « « . could be studied." STANDAED 4. Eeading (time, 20 minutes) : February Journal, page 13: "How Animals Use Colour ' ' — reviaion. Eead aloud the whole of this lesson. Eemember to let your eye travel ahead along the line so as to make sure of the words before you speak them. Spelling (time, 20 minutes): Eule a pencil line underneath these word3 which you will find below the picture on page 16. Learn these as before: Beautifully, pheasant, spreading, drooping, expanding, towards, peacocks, paradise, beauty, appear, notice, parade, doubt, handsome, appearance, male bird, fiesired, effect. STANDAED 3. Eeading: February Journal, pages 12 and 13. Time, 20 minutes. Spelling: Fields, coloured, woollen, cfieese, fancy, gaudy, whether, ploughed, animals, desert, scarlet, scarcely.
