Harry Vardon, the famous golfer, is dead. €)ne of the most famous of all professional golfers Harry Vardon was 67 years of age. He was British open champion six times, first in 1896 when he was 26 years of age, and finally in 1914 when he was 44. He won the American championship in 1900 and was German champion in 1911, besides which he was the winner of 62 firstclass tournaments.
