Here are two recipes for bran gems whieh xnany readets would like to try. Mix together 5 oz: bran and 3 oz. wholemeal flour. Stir into this gradually

Warm two tablespoonfuls of treacle and stir it into half a teacup of sour milk, and mix this with the dry ingredients to make a fairly damp soft mixture, adding a little more milk, if needed. Have the gem irons well heated, drop a desseftspoonful df the mixture into each and bake 15 to 20 minutes into a hot oven. 'Another method is to beat two eggs to a froth and gradually stir in till thorOughly mixed one Cup of bran, half a cup of wholemeal and one cup- of desSie&ted cocOnut. Stir in one tableispoonf'Ul of melted butter and fenough sour milk to make a soft damp mixture. Put in tablespoonfuls into heated gemirons and bake 15 to 20 minutes in a hot oven. This woUld suit a diabetic; olherwise, two tablespoonfuls of brown Sugar might also be beaten in with the eggs befofe adding the meal.
