KEEN STRUGGLE in Cricket Final

UNITED AND TECH. Honours Still "In the Air1' After Saturday's Play VARIED PERFORMANCES There was a variety of performances recorded by the respective teams in the final series of games in the combined senior-grade ECast-ings-Napier cricket competition, begun on Saturday. The main attraction was the fight' for the championship by the two leading teaxns, Technical O.B. and United. This match is "being played at Napier. Technical had first use of the wicket 'and set United the task of making more than 231; Saturday 's quota of that task was 51 for the loss of one wicket. The honours are still very much "in the air." Two matches were played at Hastings, and a big surprise was provided by Hastings H.S.O.B., who compiled 315 runs against Hastings, this being eaaily their best effort this season. This score was largely contributed to by the shocking fielding of Hastings. Hastings have made 28 runs for the loss of no wickets in reply. The other game giveg promise of proving an interesting one, for, though Eugby made only 166 against Napier H.S.O.B., they have eollected four Old Boy wickets for 32 runs.
