STREET APPEAL IN HASTINGS
The annual street appeal in aid of tho Hawke's Bay Ohildren's Home took place in Hastings to-day, when, from an eatly hour in the morning, collectors were on the streets for contributions to this wol'thy cause. From inquiries made hy the HeraldTribune, collectors met with a good response from the public, and, wh©n the collections are tallied up, it is anticipated that the arnount raised will be a substantial suin. In. addition to the street appeal, a "Paddy's Market," where all varieties of produce were offered for sale, was conducted in Heretaunga street, on the section adjoining the Bank of New South Wales, and iiere again excellent public support was forthcoming.
