LOCAL BODY OFFICERS
Hawke's a Bay Branch of Union Formed A Hawke's Bay branch of the re-cently-formed Wellington Local Body Officers' Industrial Union of Workers was formed at a meeting held in Napier last night, when the Wellington Union 's organiser and secretary, Mr. G. Martyn Renner, addressed an audionce of between 80 and 100. A committee of five was elected, with power to add to their numbers, while after certain amendments, the clauses of the proposed award to operate in New Zealand were adopted. At some future date there is to be a Dominion conference of the various branches of the new union, and one delegate from each branch will be invit'ed to attend. The personnel of the committee to guide the destinics of the Hawke's Bay branch is as follows:— -Messrs. F. Murray, Hastings Borough Council; W. J. Ireland, E. Grant, *Miss Dean, all of the Napier Borough Council; and Mr. D. Evans, Hawke's Bay County Council. Other officers are to be elected at a later meeting.
