NAPIER v. HERETAUNGA

At the Napier dub's green yesterday five rinks from Heretaunga Club met Napier players. A very fast green and glorious sunshine made the outing a most enjoyabl© one for all engaged. Although the games showed wide margins in the scores the aggregate for the full play was very close, Napier eventually winning by 98 points to 95. Heretaunga: Lynch, Osborne, Murley, Burfield 15; Corne, Bartron, MeLaren, Plested 19. Heretaunga: Sharkey, Ward, Usherwood, Hawley 13; Angove, Cox, Wright Fowler 21. Heretaunga; Wells, Warren, Ressell, Maher 33; Russel, Maidens, O. Fox, Bendall 9. The McLennan Cup challenge game between Wairere and Port, played on Wednesday evening ended in a win for Wairere (holders) by a large margin, 21 — 8. The players comprises J. Thompson and G. Venables (Wairere) and C. Briasco and T. Courtney (Port). Tho Omarunui Club will be the next ckallengers.
