A very happy gathering took place "in the school at Wakarara, wlien the settlers in th© district assembled to say farewell to Mr aud Mrs Bainbridge, who are leaving to take up their residenc© near Pukehou, The gathering was representative of the whole district and a very enjoyabl© evening was Bpent. At a eonvement interval iu the prq-. gramme Mr Jack Douglas, on behalf of the gathering, expreesed keen regret at the impending departure of Mf and Mrs Bainbridge, who had taken a very real interesf, in matters affecting the welfare of the districtTn presenting Mr Bainbridge with a Well filled wallet and Mrs Bainbridge with a handsome handbag and an acjompanying monetary gift, he wished them the best of luck in tbeir new spher©, Gifts were also made to mem-. bers of their family. Suitablo acknowledgement was made by Mr Bainbridge.
