RUGBY FOOTBALL

M.A.C. Annual Meeting The annual meeting of the M.A.C. Football Club was held in the Premier Hall, Hastings, last week. Mr S. Edwards presided over an attendauce of about 50 players and supporters. The chairman congratulated the members on their excellent showing last season. They were runner-up in the championship and he expressed the wish that as the club was the only Maori team in the competition they would come out on top this season and give the public the thrills it gave them laet season. It was decidod to start training at once. Several new members were elected and the proruise of a good season is assured. The following offieers were eleetecls Patron, Mr C. Tahu; president, Mr H. M. Glazebrook; vice-presidents, Messrs D. Donovan, E. A. Poppleweli, C. Stubbs, H. M. Campbell, E. Cullen, M.P., J. Ellison, Hori Tupea, J. Holden, Miki Thomas, T. Tomlin, J. Lewis, W. B. Campbell, A. Giorgi, J. Lyons, A, Mclntyre, J. Dexter; secretary, Mr S. Crawford; delegates to sub-union, Mpssrs W. I. Neill, E. A. Poppleweli. Honorary members are to be admitted and the club solicits the support of admirers of good open football to assist them in their endeavour to keep the game going among the Maoris.
