BRIDGE PARTY TO HELP NAPIER PLUNKET FUNDS

The Napier Plunket Society is steadily advancing in its endeavours to raise funds. Each member of the committee has undertaken to raise £5, and bridge, tennis and other ways are all helpful. On Tuesday afternoon Mesdames Hector Smith andr"^wen Troutbeck combined and gave a very enjoyable function, which was held at Ormlie, the residence of Mrs. Smifh. ' Nine tables played bridge all the afternoon and a very large number enjoyed tennis. The rooms were tastefuly decorated with belladonna and guerosey lilies, A deliglitful luncheon and afternoon tea was served in the garden. The following were winners of the competitions: — Mr. Ian McKinnon, Glengarrie (hamper), Mrs. E. I. Hutton (duck), and Mr. J. W. Gueren (box of perfume).
