PORT v. OMARUNUI
Reliance Shield Match Although somewhat affected by the rather unfavourable weather conditions on Saturday afternoon, the return match between Port Ahuriri and Omarunui, played on the latter's green at Taradale, provided a very jolly aternfoon's bowling. The honours of the day were with Port, who won with an aggregate score of 97 to 76. A cordial welcome was extended to the Port men at the tea adjcrarnment by President T. B. McDonald, who at the close of play, handed over the shield to President H. Mayor, and congratulated his men on their victory. Mr Mayo, in accepting tho much coveted trophy, spoke of its helpful influence in pi'omoting fraternity between the two clubs, and mentioned that the day had added interest from the fact that tli3 donor of the shield also was present as one of the playersReciprocal cheers were exchanged, with an extra special round in recognition of the dainty tea served by the ladies of the Croquet Club.
