FOUNDRIES CLOSED
Wages Dispute in N.S.W. ; SYDNEY, March 16. Between 40 and 50 foundries, including the Clyde Engineering Company,. are likely to close to-morrow as a result' of a dispute with the employees, who are clalming increased wages and the elimination of overtime. About 2600 men will be directly affected, and' 10,000 metal workers indirectly. The Metal Trades Employers' Association insists on observance of the> award and has issued an ultimatum to tlie employees of the Clyde Engineering Company and Gordon Marr and 8ons,i where strikes have already occurred, that, if the men do not return to work by to-morrow, the whole of the metropolitan toundries will close forthwith.
