AUTUMN SHOW
This Week's Big Event • Speaking from a picturesque point of view, the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's annual Autumn Show out-rivals the society's big Spring Show, for fruit and flowers are more beautiful than animals and their beauty appeals to a wider circle of show patrons. The Hawke's Bay Autumn Show ranks as one of the best in the Dominion at this season of the year; in fact, it is justly regarded as the "fruit 6how of the Dominion," and everything points to this high reputation being well upheld this year, for despite all the set-backs which orchardists hav6 had and the fact that the cased fruit classes have been cut out, the entries in the fruit, section show a good increase over those of last year. Most of the other gections also show increases, especially the kennel section and this is bound to be one of the features of the show; in fact, the display of canine pets is likely to be one of the best yet seen on the ground. There are good entries in the stock classes, and also in the many and. varied competitions, so that Thursday next should see a record attendance for an autumn Show , Hot water will, as usual, be provided free. Buses from Napier and Hastings will stop at tho showgrounds as required. Exhibitors should note the times at which the various exhibits are required to be on the ground.
