Government's Policy Stated AGRICULTURAL TRAINING

WELLINGTON, Last Night. A gtatement of the Government's policy concerning the futuTe operations of Elock House was made to-day by the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. W. Lee Martin). "Training at Elock House is free to all New Zealanders between the agesi of 14£ and 18 and within the limits of j the accommodation available at the; station," said the Minister. "The boys accepted for the Flock House; course must have an intention of en-j gaging permanently in agricultural pur-j suits. They must be of good characterj and before entry must submit a satis-i factory medical certificate as to fitnesa.! The parents or guardians of trainees' are required to provide boys with the necessary outfit. "The course at Flock House embraoes 12 months of practical training in all branches of farming, and this is followed by apprenticeship with farmers approved by the Department of Agriculture for a period of three years or until the boys reach the age of 20, which'ever is sooner."
