!Nonsense," Says Minister UNFAIR TO COMMISSIONER
(By Teiegraph
WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Minister in Charge of the Police, the Hon. P. Fraser, to-night issued a statement denying that there is the slightest foundation in the report from Auckland that members of the police force there strongly resented certain recent transfers claimtag they amounted to the victimisation of prominent members of the newly-f ormed Police Association. "It is difficult to"understand how any sensible person could fabricate such nonssnse," said the Minister. He expjained that oordial relations had always existed between himself and the Police Association in the past and would continue in the f-uture. The Minister also said that the statement that Commissioner Cummings had not been helpful in hastening the smooth running of the association was also incorrect and grossly unfair to the Commissioner, who had been particularly helpful and friendly towards the Association.
