The Rev. J. F. Goldie, of Roviania, Western Solomons, left Hastings yesterday. "While in Hawke's Bay he has been the guest of Mr and Mrs J. B. Pickering.Dr. Harold Berry was yesterday appointed as the Napier Secondary Education Board representative on the executive of the Napier branch of the Five Million Club, Mr. D. B. McBae, who has filled the vacancy on the Napier Secondary Education Board caused by the death of Mr. T. P. McCarthy, was weleomed to the meeting of the board yesterday afternoon. Mr P. W. Bayford, of Napier, who has been on the staff of the T. and G. Mutual Life office for the past 18 years, has been transferred to a Benior position in the Wellington office. He was accorded a complimentary evening and was the recipient of a presentation from the staffi of the Napier office. Mr Bayford leaves to-morrow to take up his new position.
