Renewal of Agreement
IFrom
DANNEVIRKE, Last Night. At to-day's meeting of tlie lianne- j virke Hospital Board a ietter was re- ' ceived from the Director-General oi Health advising that the departinent's views on the subject of the Park Island agreement between the Hawke's Bay, Waipawa and Dannevirke hospital boards, the agreement being due to terminate by elfluxion of time on March 31, 1937, had been sought by the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board. This stated that in the opinion of the de- j partment the three boards should not ; terminate tho present arrangements, j as they represented mutual savings and would facilitate the renewal of the original Park Island agreement when the re-erection of th© home was determined on. It appeared, said the letter, that neither the Waipawa Board not tho Dannevirke Board could independently provide satisfactorily for the proper institutional car© of old people, and the Director-General therefore trusted that th© Hawke's Bay Board wo-uld in the : meantime agree to continue the present joint scheme. The chairman Mr L. Stein, said that nothing would be done yet. The Park Island Committe© would meet sometime this or next month.
