Annual Display By Women's Institute SPLENDID ENTRIES Very suecessful was the annual autumn show organiscd by the Eskdale Women 'a Institute held in the local hall on Saturday afternoon and evening. There was a splendid lot of entries in all classes which meant no easy task for the judges, to whom the Institute is very much iudebted. Mrs Os borne, sccretary of the Northern Hawke's Bay Federation, afier being introduced by the president, Mrs Williams, and presented by little Nancy Spence with a pretty autumn posy made by Mrs Saunders, afficially opened the show. The secretary, Mrs King, Was ably assisted by the stewarde, Mesdames Conway, Fippard, Saunders Williams (prosident), Spence and the Misses Blair, E. Kyle and D. Kirkham. Afternoon tea . was dispensed by Mesdames Kirkham, Brown and Peterson and Mips J. Kyle. Miss Kirkhaai and Mrs Saunders acted as doorkeepers. The show continued until 8.30 p.m,, then the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. A humorous dialogue was well read by Mesdames King and Williams, a pianoforte solo given by Miss Eddy and an Irish jig and a Russian danee by June Eddy. Mr vvilliamson carried out the duties of M.C., and Mr W. T. Kirkham took charge of the door. Music for dancing was kindly supplied by Miss D. Kirkham with extras by Mrs Nichol.
