% Dr. G. McLean, tubercular officer to ' the Wellington Hospital Board, returned to Wellington from Waipukurau yesterday, after making his periodical inspection of Wellington patients at the Pukeora Sanatorium Mr. S. L. Cummane, of the Waipukurau railway staff, is visiting Taranaki, Auckland and Tauranga on annual leave. Mr. C. C. Harris, Waipawa, is relieving him. Mr. J. French, of the Waipukurau Post Offiee staff, who has been trausferred to Featherston, was farewelled before his departure. Presenting Mr. French with a fountain pen, Mr. C. W. Browne expressed regret at losing his services but wished him suceess in his new position. Mr. French replied. Sister May Gardiner, of the Nuhaka Maori Presbyterian Mission, ib on boliday in Auckland. Miss Rosemary Rees, who has been On visit to Mrs H. D- De Lautour, "Te Ariki," Wairoa, is now in Auckland. Mrs W. R. Petchell, Wairoa, who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs A F. Houston, Gisborne, has returned. home. The Mayor of Wairoa, Mr H. L. Harker, has again been elected a member of .the executive of the Municipal Assoeiation. Mr R. Dryden, managing direetor of Morris Ltd, Wairoa, accompanied by Mrs Dryden, left on Monday for Rotorua, where they are to spend three weeks' holiday.
