Otane v. Waipawa Primary

WAIPAWA, Last Night. On Saturday morning a closely-con-tested cricket matchi was played between the Otane school and the Waipawa primary school. Thanks to a fine innings by Doug Maulder (29), the Waipawa team, batting first, compiled 50. H. Page and Stevens were tbe most successful bowlers for Otane. The visitors replied with 56, H. Drake, P. Meha, and S. McCleary being the most J successful bowlers for Waipawa, while H. Page was Otane' s top scorer. A .feature of the game was the splendid catching of P. Meha, who caught H. Page, Otane'g star batsman, with a wonderful " catch on the boundary. He was also successful in catching out three other Otane hatsmen. Otane won by six runs on the first innings.
