SYDNEY, March 14.The former Patrick Company steamer Craigend, which wae recently bought "by Ohinese huyers and renamed the Haiping, has encountered heavy weather en route to her new owners In Chlna. She has wlrelessed that she is leaking "badly and has a heavy 11st. Her position is 200 miles north of *Erisbane. She has asked for sssistance. " r The Naviga'tion Department wirelessed the freighter Mildura, whfeh is now standing by and is accompanying the Haiping back to Brisbane at all possible speed. The last cnessage from the dxstressed vessel stated that the pumps were barely able to contend with the influx od! water, but the Mildura would escort her to the shelter of Moreton Bay, about 200 miles away. - • The Haiping, with engineroom awasli and one boiler out of aetion, was,' only making half -speed.
