O'BRIEN MAKES 99 By gaining ah outright victory agaiiist Hastings H.S.O.B., Napier H.S.O.B. are serious contenders for the Napier-Hastings settior cricket championship, one point separating them from the leading teain, Technical Q.B. Two features of th© most interesting series yet played this season were M. O'Brien's 99 against Hastings, which hrought his hatting aggregate up to 1024 runs, and H. Reaney's four wickets which hrought his total for the season up to 52. At Napier, Technical O.B. secured a first-innings win against Rugby, and Hastings wero fortunate in getting a eimilar victory against TJnitod. At Hastings, Nkpier H.S.O.B. meritoriously defeated Hastings H.S.O.B. by nine wickets. In the junior division,- Gray (Napier H.S.O.B.) scored his seeond conseeutive contury. Weather conditions on Saturday afternoon were cloudy and threatening, but the grounds were in excellent condition.
