Mr Jacob EHiott to Contest 1 Presidency

AUCKLAND, March 13. By a large majority Mr Jacob Elliott, of Otahuhu, has been re-elected by ballot as, New Zealand loeomotive workshops representative on the Railways Board of Appeal. In response tp a petition, Mr Elliott has deeided to contest the presidency of the New Zealane Union of Railwaymen. He is president of the AucklandCity and Suburban Cricket Assoeiation and has been delegate to the Railway Conference since 1918 and an executive officer in the past ten years. He is also national representative on the Railivays Superannuation Board. The ballot closes in April. Mr E. J. Dash (South Canterbury) who is now president, is leaving in April for the Geaeya Conference to represent New Zealand industrial unions.
