THE VEGETABLE GARDEN
It Is essential that those who desire to grow their own vegetables for winter use should make sowings as early as possible, Vegetables are usually a fair price during the colder months, and it pays the amateur to grow as many varieties as possible. Sow all the main crops sueb as cabbage, cauliflowers, beetj turnips, swedes and parsnips. These are all fairly easy to grow so long as the ground has been * well dug over and well manured. Xf sowings are made at once a good supply of vegetables will be ready for winter months. ' Watering must, of eourse, be kept up during warm weather.
