COUNTY CRICKET LOSS

Middlesex County Cricket Club (England), lost £1529 5s 2d last season, »ut gate receipts were up by*£3089 19s. Under the able leadership of R. W. V. Robins, Middlesex had a very successful season. Financially the season was not unsatisfactory when wretched weather of May and June is taken into consideration. A big drop in income was experienced in the share of receipts from Test matches, The Middlesex share of the Australia, and South Afriqa Tests amounted to £2,042 5s, but last year no more than £147 6s 4d was available from the Test matches against India, It is interesting to note that premiums for insurance against wet weather amounted to £35Q Is, while £357 10s lOd was recejved for a claim under this policy.
