Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Nova Pilbeam, Dame Sybil Thorndyke and John Mills have the leading roles in the excellent British pieture "Tudor Eose," which wj.ll be shown at the Waipukurau Theatre to-night at 8. The pageant of English history march e's across the screen in gallant guise in the film-story of Lady Jane Grey. It is an historical drama depieting the turbulent events following the death of Henry YHI. Edward VI., boy monarch dominated by Edward Seymour, succeeds to the throne, while Warwick, the crafty Earl, watches, content to wait for a chanca to seize power. Seymour 's brother Thomas brings Lady Jane Grey to ' London, banking on the young king's death to inake her Queen, but ils executed before the plan materialises. Warwick then, with the passing of King [Edward, places the crown on Lady Jane's head. The finish sees Mary Tudor taking London by storm, supplanting the tragic young queen, whose execution is one of Bloody Mary's first accomplishmentB. Filmed with an eye for sympathetic detail and the eolour of a forgotten century, "Tudor Eose" is a rare and memorable cameo. In addition will be shown the Max Sehmeling versus Joe Louis fight — every detail of the fight up to the knock-out blow in the twelfth round. At the present time Joe Louis 'B managers are demanding a £20,000 guarantee free of tax for his appearance in London during the Coronation.
